Private ADHD assessment in Cork
You can be assessed for ADHD from anywhere in Cork without travelling to Dublin, because the assessment is an online video call. No GP referral is needed to book.
Assessed from Cork, with no trip to Dublin
Your assessment happens by online video call, so you are seen from wherever you are in Cork. There is no drive to Dublin, no overnight stay and no day lost to travel.
This is how we run assessments everywhere, not a reduced version for people outside Dublin. The same structured interview, the same instruments, the same specialist team review and the same written report.
It works just as well from Cork city as it does from Bandon, Youghal, Clonakilty or anywhere else in the county. What you need is a private room, a device with a camera and a steady connection.
What it costs and what is included
An adult ADHD assessment is €595. Autism is €750. Both together, the combined AuDHD assessment, is €1,000.
Before any of that, you get a free pre-assessment evaluation. It exists so nobody pays for a full diagnostic assessment they did not need. Your EchoMind AI profile is included as well, worth €97, translating your results into how your mind actually handles work, focus and daily life.
Being diagnosed later in life
Most of the adults we assess have lived their whole lives without knowing. Many are diagnosed in their thirties, forties or later.
It is common to reach adulthood undiagnosed. ADHD gets read as stress, as anxiety, as personality or as not trying hard enough. Some people build coping systems that hide the difficulty without removing what it costs them. From the outside it looks managed. From the inside it takes far more effort than anyone can see.
People often come to us after a promotion, a new baby, a bereavement or a change in how they work, when the systems that used to hold everything together stop being enough. That is not a new problem appearing. It is an old one that has run out of workarounds.
How we tell ADHD apart from stress, anxiety or burnout
By looking at your history, not only at how you are now. ADHD is neurodevelopmental, so a clinician looks for signs that reach back into childhood and appear in more than one part of life.
Difficulties that only started recently usually point somewhere other than ADHD. So do difficulties that show up at work and nowhere else. Difficulties threaded through school, home, friendships and every job you have ever had point differently.
That is why we use a structured interview and an informant questionnaire rather than relying on how you describe a hard week. We also assess for the things that sit alongside ADHD or look like it, including anxiety, depression, sleep problems and the effects of trauma.
If the answer is not ADHD
You still get a written report with a clear outcome. No assessment can promise a diagnosis. A good one identifies when something else explains what you have been living with.
Sometimes the answer is autism rather than ADHD. For some people it is both together. For others it is anxiety, sleep or the load they are carrying at the moment. Whichever it is, you get it in writing along with recommendations you can act on.
Public waiting lists and going private
Public waiting lists for adult ADHD and autism assessment in Ireland are long. That is the main reason people look at a private assessment at all.
Going private with us takes out two of the delays. You do not need a GP referral, so there is nothing to wait for before you book. Your report is finished within 6 weeks of your first appointment, so there is no open-ended wait at the other end either.
The report is NICE-compliant and accepted by the HSE, which means a private assessment does not shut you out of public services afterwards. You can use it to access HSE pathways, workplace accommodations and educational support.
What to do before your appointment
Three things. Complete the questionnaire linked in your confirmation email, make sure your informant has completed theirs and gather any records or examples that back up what you have experienced.
Your informant is a partner, parent, sibling or close friend who has known you a long time. For a child it is a parent or carer plus their school. Old school reports, work reviews or reports from previous appointments are all useful, though nothing is ruled out if you cannot find any of it.
Feeling nervous beforehand is normal. Come as you are. Most of our team are neurodivergent themselves, so the appointment is not a test you can fail.

Take it now, freeCommon questions
- Is an online ADHD assessment as valid as an in-person one?
- Yes. The assessment uses the same structured clinical interview and the same validated instruments either way. The report is NICE-compliant and accepted by the HSE and NHS. Most people find a video call from home easier than a clinic room, because they are already somewhere comfortable.
- I live outside Cork city. Can I still be assessed?
- Yes. Because appointments are online, where you live in the county makes no difference. You need a private room, a device with a camera and a connection steady enough for a video call.
- I am in my forties and only started wondering recently. Is it too late?
- No. A large share of the adults we assess are diagnosed in their thirties, forties or later. A diagnosis at any age gives you an accurate explanation, a management plan and a report you can use for accommodations at work or in study.
- Can I be assessed for autism at the same time?
- Yes. The combined ADHD and autism assessment, AuDHD, is €1,000 and covers both diagnostic pathways in one coordinated process. You tell your history once instead of twice.
- Who fills in the informant questionnaire?
- Someone who knows you well: a partner, parent, sibling or close friend. For a child it is a parent or carer, with input from their school.
