Private ADHD assessment in Limerick

Adults in Limerick can be assessed for ADHD with us over a video call, booked directly with no GP letter and no train to Dublin.

The public adult ADHD service for Limerick

Limerick sits in HSE Mid West, the health region it shares with Clare and North Tipperary. One public adult ADHD team covers all three counties, as part of the HSE's Adult ADHD National Clinical Programme.

In December 2025, in a reply to a parliamentary question, the HSE said this team was open to all referrals with a waiting list of 1.5 years. Young people transferring from CAMHS were seen more quickly. Those figures date from late 2025, so your GP is the person to ask about the list today.

How a private assessment fits alongside the public list

Booking privately removes the referral step, since you contact us yourself. It also puts a date on the far end of the process: your report comes within 6 weeks of your first appointment.

Going private does not close the public route. We write the report in line with the HSE ADHD in Adults Model of Care, so your GP and other services can use it. Shared care after a private diagnosis is for your GP to agree to or decline.

Fees for people in Limerick

Fees are the same wherever you live in Ireland: €595 for adult ADHD, €750 for autism and €1,000 for ADHD and autism assessed together (AuDHD).

Your first step is a pre-assessment evaluation that costs nothing. It helps you decide whether a full assessment makes sense before you pay for one. The written diagnostic report is part of the fee rather than an extra.

Assessed from the city, Clare or North Tipperary

Trains between Limerick Colbert and Dublin Heuston take around two hours each way, which turns a Dublin appointment into a day out of work. We run the assessment over video instead, so it happens wherever you are.

A face-to-face appointment in Dublin can be arranged. You do not need one to be assessed. Set yourself up somewhere private with a laptop, tablet or phone that has a camera and a connection good enough for video.

Studying in Limerick

If you are a student, the report gives your college a diagnosis in writing to support a request for exam or study supports. It can back up a request for changes at work too.

TUS, whose campuses include Moylish in Limerick, was certified ADHD friendly by ADHD Ireland in May 2024. Wherever you study in the city, the disability or student support office is the place to take your report.

The people behind your assessment

Dr Jahan Zeb Khan leads the service as Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director. He is on the Medical Council of Ireland register as IMC No. 409788.

Each clinician holds registration with CORU, the Psychological Society of Ireland or the Medical Council of Ireland, according to their profession. Those registers are public, so you can look anyone up. Many of us are neurodivergent too, which changes how the conversation feels.

Booking from Limerick

Book online whenever suits you, with no letter from a GP. To ask something first, send a WhatsApp message to +353 87 116 3039.

Still unsure? The free screeners on our tools page take a few minutes. They cannot diagnose ADHD, though they can show whether a full assessment is worth booking.

Common questions

Do I need a GP referral for an ADHD assessment in Limerick?
No, you can book with us yourself because we are a private clinic. There is no referral letter to wait for.
How long is the public wait for an adult ADHD assessment in Limerick?
About 1.5 years. That was the HSE's figure in December 2025 for the public adult team covering Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary, with CAMHS transfers seen sooner. Check the current wait with your GP.
I live in Clare or North Tipperary. Can I still be assessed?
Yes, from anywhere in the Mid West. The assessment runs over video, so all you need is a quiet room and a device with a camera.
How much does an ADHD assessment cost in Limerick?
€595 for adult ADHD. Autism costs €750 and the combined AuDHD assessment costs €1,000, with a free pre-assessment evaluation first in each case.
Can my GP in Limerick use a private ADHD report?
Yes, that is its purpose. We follow the HSE ADHD in Adults Model of Care, so your GP and other services can use the report. Your GP decides whether to agree to shared care.
