Booking an ADHD assessment from Galway
You book directly and you are assessed online, from home in Galway. No GP referral is required. There is no travel to Dublin involved.
An adult ADHD assessment is €595, autism is €750 and both together are €1,000. Every booking starts with a free pre-assessment evaluation, so the first step costs you nothing.
Why ADHD in women is so often missed
Because the classic picture of ADHD was built around boys who could not sit still. Women, non-binary people and trans people are missed most often, since their presentation tends to be more internal and more masked.
Inattentive ADHD is quiet. It looks like daydreaming, disorganisation, being talkative, forgetting things or being called sensitive. None of that gets a child referred for assessment the way visible trouble in a classroom does. Many women reach adulthood with a reputation for being scattered rather than a diagnosis.
Masking makes it harder still. If you have spent years building elaborate systems to look organised, the effort is invisible and the outcome looks fine. Clinicians who assess against the classic presentation see the outcome and stop there.
What we do differently
We assess for the internalised and masked presentation, not only the visible one. Our clinicians understand how ADHD and autism show up in girls and women and how masking hides both from standard tools.
In practice that means asking about the effort rather than only the result. How long the tidy house takes. What the week costs. What happens to your attention and regulation at different points in your cycle. How much of your day goes on remembering things other people simply do.
We use DIVA-5 for adult ADHD, which works through each area methodically instead of leaving it to conversation. The ADI-R is used where autism forms part of the assessment. Our clinicians are experienced in co-occurring anxiety, depression and trauma, which matters because those are the labels many women are given first.
Autism, AuDHD and masking
ADHD and autism often occur together. That combination is called AuDHD. Assessing both at once gives a clearer picture than assessing either on its own, because each can hide or amplify the other.
This matters especially where masking is heavy. Someone can present as socially capable and organised while managing an internal load that no observer would guess at. Our combined assessment is €1,000 and covers both diagnostic pathways in one coordinated process, with one report covering how the two interact for you.
Most of our team are neurodivergent themselves, including AuDHD. This presentation is familiar to us rather than unusual.
Your report and what it gives you
You receive a detailed written report within 6 weeks of your first appointment, complying with NICE guidelines and accepted by the HSE in Ireland as well as the NHS in the UK.
The report includes a clear outcome and recommendations you can use: workplace accommodations, support in college or university, onward referral through the HSE and a route to medication if you decide to consider one. Reports here are psychiatrist-approved, so that route is open to you after diagnosis.
If the outcome is not ADHD, you still get the report. Some people's difficulties turn out to have another explanation. Identifying that accurately is part of the job.
Start with a free screener
If you are not sure whether to book, start with one of the free screeners on our tools page. They cost nothing and take a few minutes.
Our female-presentation ADHD screener is designed for the inattentive, internalised and hormonally influenced picture that male-baseline screeners tend to miss. There are screeners for adult autism, for masking and for the combined AuDHD picture as well.
A screener is not a diagnosis and cannot give you one. What it can do is tell you whether a full assessment is worth your time. If it is, you can book from Galway without a referral. You can also message us on WhatsApp at +353 87 116 3039 with a question first.

Take it now, freeCommon questions
- Do you assess ADHD in women differently?
- We assess against the same diagnostic criteria, though we ask different questions to get there. Our clinicians are experienced in the internalised and masked presentation more common in women, non-binary and trans people, so we ask about the effort behind the result rather than judging by how coped-with your life looks from outside.
- I was told it was anxiety or depression. Can I still be assessed?
- Yes. It is a common starting point. Anxiety and depression frequently sit alongside undiagnosed ADHD or autism. They are sometimes what gets treated first. Our clinicians are experienced in co-occurring presentations, so an existing diagnosis does not rule out an assessment or a different answer.
- What if I have no school reports from childhood?
- That is common and it does not stop the assessment. The clinical interview covers your developmental history in detail. An informant who has known you a long time adds to it. Records help where they exist, without being a requirement.
- Can I be assessed for autism as well as ADHD?
- Yes. The combined AuDHD assessment is €1,000 and covers both pathways in one process, with a single report on how ADHD and autism interact for you.
- How much does it cost and when do I get my report?
- An adult ADHD assessment is €595, autism is €750 and the combined assessment is €1,000. Your report arrives within 6 weeks of your first appointment. Every booking includes a free pre-assessment evaluation and your EchoMind AI profile, worth €97.
