Private ADHD assessment in Belfast
We assess adults in Belfast for ADHD by online video call, with reports that comply with NICE guidelines and are accepted by the NHS. No GP referral is needed to book.
What a private ADHD assessment costs in Belfast
An adult ADHD assessment is £500. An autism assessment is £750. A combined ADHD and autism assessment, known as AuDHD, is £1,000. Prices for Northern Ireland are in pounds sterling.
Every booking includes a free pre-assessment evaluation before you commit to a full assessment. Every booking also includes your EchoMind AI profile, worth £97, which explains your results in terms of how you work rather than clinical language.
That price covers the assessment itself as well as the written diagnostic report you take away from it.
Will the NHS accept your report
Yes. Our diagnostic reports comply with NICE guidelines and are completed by registered clinicians, so they meet the standard required for recognition by the NHS in Northern Ireland and the wider UK.
In practical terms, that means the report is usable. It supports workplace accommodations under your employer's duty to make reasonable adjustments, support in school, college or university, onward referral within Health and Social Care and any application where a diagnosis has to be evidenced in writing.
The same report is recognised by the HSE in Ireland, which matters if you live in Northern Ireland and work or study across the border.
Waiting lists in Northern Ireland
Public waiting lists for adult ADHD and autism assessment in Northern Ireland and the wider UK are long. That is why most people looking at this page are considering a private assessment at all.
We are not going to put a number on the Health and Social Care wait, because it varies by trust and by the point at which you ask. What we can tell you is what happens with us. There is no referral stage to get through, because no GP referral is required. Immediate appointments are available. Your report is finished within 6 weeks of your first appointment.
Going private does not remove you from Health and Social Care. Because the report is NICE-compliant, it can be used for onward referral and support within the NHS afterwards.
Assessed from anywhere in Northern Ireland
Your assessment is an online video call, so you are seen wherever you are. There is no travel to Dublin and no cross-border trip.
Our registered clinic address is 26 Pembroke Street Upper, Dublin D02 X361, open by appointment. We do not run a premises in Belfast. You do not need one. The assessment, the questionnaires and the report are all handled remotely.
That covers Belfast, Lisburn, Bangor, Derry, Newry and everywhere between. You need a private room, a device with a camera and a connection steady enough to hold a call.
ADHD, autism or both
If you are not sure which one you are looking at, you can be assessed for both. ADHD and autism frequently occur together, a combination called AuDHD.
Assessing them separately can give a misleading answer, because each can mask, amplify or complicate the other. The combined assessment is £1,000 and covers both diagnostic pathways in one coordinated process. You get one report covering ADHD, autism and how the two interact for you, rather than two reports that do not reference each other.
If you want a sense of this before booking, our free AuDHD screener on the tools page is built for the combined picture. It is a screener rather than a diagnosis, so treat it as a signal about whether to go further.
Who assesses you and what happens with medication
Our clinicians hold registration with the HCPC for Northern Ireland and the UK. Others are registered with CORU, the Psychological Society of Ireland or the Irish Medical Council, depending on their profession. The service is led by a consultant psychiatrist, Dr Jahan Zeb Khan, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director, IMC No. 409788.
Our reports are psychiatrist-approved and a medication pathway is available after diagnosis, so a diagnosis here is not a dead end if medication is something you want to consider.
Most of the team are neurodivergent themselves, ADHD, autistic or both. The assessment is a structured clinical process, not an interrogation. It is run by people who understand the experience first-hand.
